Academic Upgrading

Algonquin College, Smiths Falls Centre, offers academic upgrading to adults who are returning to employment or post-secondary training.  We help individuals learn, improve and practice their academic skills in English, Mathematics and computer use on a full time or part time basis.  Learners may earn the ACE Certificate which is equivalent to grade 12; or they may complete a particular pre-requisite course for a post-secondary program; or they may improve their use of a computer to be more employable.

Communications for the Employment Pathway

Algonquin College, Smiths Falls Centre, in response to a need raised by our Employment Service Provider partners, offers an 8-week course for adults who are looking to get into the workforce but need to improve their computer skills to be more employable.  The unique course helps learners gain confidence in their use of computer software, file maintenance, and exploring the internet while at the same time investigating and targeting various employment opportunities.
